We got to chat with Tiffany about her fun, new song “Lemonade” and the meaning behind the lyrics.

When did you become passionate about creating music?
I’ve been singing and writing songs ever since I was a little kid. I used to sing about literally everything. From playing with my Barbie dolls to running around in the backyard to swinging on the swing set. I was just always writing songs. I started to play guitar when I was eight years old and that’s when I learned how to properly structure and write music.
What is your songwriting process?
My songwriting process is honestly different every time. I think writing music is so interesting because there is no one way to do it. With “Lemonade”, the song actually started on piano. I wrote the lyrics to the chorus first, but I didn’t like how the melody was sounding. I switched to guitar and the song just really flowed. I wrote the rest of the lyrics really quickly and it was one of those instances where the song just poured out of me.
Tell us about your new song “Lemonade”. What message are you hoping to send with the song?
Lemonade is a song about when you try to make a bad situation better, but you actually just end up making it worse. I am a very optimistic person, and I always try to see the best in every situation, but sometimes in life, you just have to step back and admit that things are a mess.
“Lemonade” is bright and fun, definitely the perfect song to come in time for summer. How did you go about honing in on the way you wanted the song to sound?
Creating and producing “Lemonade” was a super fun experience. I knew right away that I wanted the song to have a summery vibe because of the title “Lemonade”. I wanted to keep the melodies light and easy to sing along with. A lot of times before I even go into the studio I know in my head what the song is supposed to sound like. I had this idea for a really catchy guitar melody so I just started humming it over and over again. It then turned into the actual guitar that you hear in the song!
Have you been working on a lot of new music in quarantine?
I have been writing a ton and really digging into who I am as an artist during quarantine. It’s been really crazy how much I’ve learned about myself during this time. I also finished writing and recording an EP that will be out in August! I am super excited about how the songs turned out and I can’t wait for y’all to hear them.
What advice do you have for aspiring singers?
My biggest piece of advice for an aspiring singer is to be persistent. If I’ve learned anything so far in my career it’s that you just need to keep showing up because you never know when you are going to meet someone that will change your life. It is so important that you work hard and keep working hard because it doesn’t go unnoticed.
