Numerous art exhibits, fairs, and talks catch the public’s attention every year. No matter where you are in the world, there’s no shortage of opportunities to interact with art and artists who impact the cultural conversation. Below is a small sample of moments on our radar.
Gustaf Westman x Mercedes-Benz
From May 23rd to 24th Gustaf Westman turned a part of Shoreditch into his very own park to unveil his collaboration with Mercedes-Benz for their global “Class of Creators” series. Westman is the second of five global collaborators in the Mercedes-Benz “Class of Creators” series; a multi-disciplinary project inviting artists, designers, musicians and gamers to reimagine the CLA through their creative lens. For this collaboration Westman transformed the all-new CLA model into a chunky, pink art piece.
The project, which is rooted in the joy of nature and camping with friends, featured the CLA with a rooftop tent, fold-out picnic table and reworked wing mirrors. It managed to reinterpret the new Mercedes-Benz CLA while merging Mercedes-Benz’s design language with Westman’s signature chunky aesthetic. In addition to the car, Westman created a small capsule of objects inspired by the collaboration. Each piece was handmade in partnership with independent producers, continuing the namesake brand’s commitment to craft, color and character.
