Interview by Carol Wright
We got to chat with actress Bria Danielle Singleton about her role in Netflix’s Thunder Force and what advice she has for aspiring actors.
Did a television show or movie initially spark your interest in acting?
No, there weren’t any shows or movies that sparked my interest in acting. I was only eight months old when I booked my first acting job and I’ve always loved it.
Who are actors that inspire you that you hope to work with one day?
There are several actors who inspire me and I would love to work with. Two of my favorites are Elizabeth Olsen and Chris Evans. I think they are amazing actors.
What about the film Thunder Force initially interested you?
I really like superhero films, so I thought it would be fun to be a character in one. I also fell in love with the character, Emily. She is very sweet and extremely smart. I think that she is a great role model too.
You play the tween version of Emily in Thunder Force. Did you work with Octavia Spencer on the character at all?
Unfortunately Ms.Octavia was working on another project when I filmed my scenes, so I didn’t get to work with her. I know we will meet each other soon.
How have you been keeping yourself creatively motivated during the pandemic?
I am always enrolled in acting classes, and I also take drama in school. This helps me to work on my craft year round.
What advice do you have for young, aspiring actors?
Don’t be discouraged if things don’t happen overnight. Just keep going because hard work eventually pays off.
