We got to chat with Ainsley about acting, singing, and how she uses her platform for good.

Have you been interested in the performing arts since childhood?

Yes, I have. Ever since I was young, I always had a love of entertaining and making people smile. I was nine years old when I started Musical Theatre and wrote my first song.

Do you hope to tie in singing and acting for future roles?

Joining my two loves together is always incredible. I would love to have that opportunity once more. Singing, and acting showcase my creativity in different avenues.

Outside of acting and singing you’re also a public speaker. What inspired you to start giving encouraging talks?

Life. We all go through certain scenarios in our lives that impact us and what we stand for. In going and growing through life I have experienced (certain scenarios) that I noticed weren’t being talked about. Therefore, I wanted to be the voice and be the change in which I wanted to see in the world. I wanted to use the experiences that I have been through to help others build their own strength and self-confidence. We are all inspired by a “moment.” That moment can inspire us to make a difference.

How do you try and use your platform to create change?

I try to incorporate a very positive, honest, and real message in any and everything I do. I use my platforms to build others up, rather than tear them down. My goal is to instill strength, love, hope, and compassion. By using your voice for the good, and standing for empowering others you can make the world a better place. You can go about this in various ways. A few of mine are through charities and community service work, empowering posts on social media, public speaking about “Just Being You”, Youth outreach programs, fitness, and the beauty of self- love.

During quarantine have you been focused on creating more music?

I have, as well as other various projects. I have been inspired for new songs, Instagram content creation, and a new book I’m writing. There will most assuredly be a new song release upon the horizon.

What advice do you have for aspiring singers?

Just Be You. Embrace the creative flare you have, that is unique to you as an artist. This career is not for the faint of heart. You have to trust your intuition, have a lawyer overlook your contracts always, and never “hurry up and sign anything”. Go fearfully in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire. You have to work to cultivate your future. So even when you don’t have that “gig” or aren’t in the studio.. take that time to learn about the history and importance of your craft!
