We got to chat with sisters and YouTubers Lucy and Lydia Connell about what they’re wearing to Coachella and what motivated them to start creating content for YouTube. You can check out their videos here.
What motivated you to start creating YouTube videos?
We both always loved watching YouTube videos and we started our channel because we really wanted to do something creative together and we would always be the girls at school who would bring our digital cameras in and actually vlog (even before it was known as vlogging) we always loved creating makeup looks and taking photos and it just seemed like the best fit!
How do you keep your content fresh and original?
We never really like to follow youtube trends and just prefer to do our own thing and film videos that we are really interested in and passionate about! We do like to create content that is relevant so if there’s a new music video out that we love, we love to recreate that look or if there is a celeb style we are loving at the time, we like to recreate their looks.
You’re both headed to Coachella. Who are you most excited to see perform?
We are so excited to see Ariana Grande live! She’s one of our favorite artists ever and when she sings “7 rings” it’s going to be amazing! We also love Ella Mai so we will definitely be going to her set!
What will you be wearing to the festival? We want to do a few different vibes for Coachella this year.
The first day we are going for a boho vibe, floaty dresses, lots of gold jewelry, gold hair accessories beachy waves! For the Ariana grande day, we are going all out, we’ve had jackets made by our friend Alice Ellen costume who is an amazing costume designer, it’s going to be Ariana Grande customized with her album artwork and thank you next text on the sleeves! Of course, we’ve got to have high ponytails with 7 rings for that day!
Outside of creating content for Youtube what do you guys enjoy doing?
We love going to dance classes, seeing friends, we love travelling, we’ve recently been to Los Angeles with our best friend and had the best time ever!
What advice do you have for those who want to become YouTubers?
We love being YouTubers because we can literally make videos on anything we are passionate about! We love being creative so we would say create content that fits you, what you love, and try and step out of the box with content and make content that’s really authentic to you!
