On March 25th, Bishop Briggs set the Irving Plaza stage ablaze on the New York leg of her Tell My Therapist I’m Fine Tour. Young singer-songwriter Ellise opened the show, letting the crowd know it was her first-ever New York performance. The dark-pop artist was a natural on stage as she performed songs from her existing records, a cover of Paramore’s “Decode,” and two tracks from her upcoming album PRETTY EVIL.

Fans were spilling out the venue’s entrance once Briggs hit the stage to perform a mix of old and new tracks from her discography. After getting the crowd riled up from performing “My Serotonin” and “I’m Not a Machine,” the genre-blending artist said that when making the setlist, she was thinking of shows she’s gone to in the past, noting that she doesn’t only want to hear songs from an artist’s most recent album. She also wants to listen to the music that introduced them to her years prior. That’s all the crowd needed to hear before cheers erupted, and she went into an electrifying performance of “Wild Horses.” The crowd quickly overtook the chorus as “Run faster, run faster” echoed through the venue.

The energy during the set never died down, and Briggs’s vocals were incredible live. “I’m obsessed with you guys!” Briggs said at one point during the show. If the crowd was any indication, New York was just as obsessed.
